The MTN mPulse Spelling Bee Competition is open to Nigeria Primary and Secondary school students between 9 – 15years old.
The competition aims to aid Nigerian students in developing their English language and spelling abilities, as well as to give them the chance to win over ₦80 million in cash and other exciting prizes.
The stages of the competition include;
- The first stage will be done on the MTN mPulse website and is open to all students between 9 and 15 years.
- The top 1000 from the first round will be invited via mail for the second round of the competition which will take place on the mPulse website.
- The first 20 students with the highest scores from the second round will qualify for the third stage (Grand Finale). The invitation will be sent via mail
- Grand finale of the competition which will be held physically.
Requirements:
To be considered for the MTN mPulse Spelling Bee Competition, you must:
- Be primary or secondary school student in Nigeria
- Be between 9 – 15years old
- Be resident in Nigeria

Requirements:
Your business must be an early-stage technology startup based in at least one of the 5 countries where we will hold the Regional Finals (Ghana, Nigeria, Senegal, South Africa, Kenya) with the following characteristics:
- Monthly Recurring Revenue: A minimum of $5k
- Funding raised: Cumulative $1M or less
- Years in existence: 3 years and below
- Traction: At least 6 months of recurring revenue
- Founding team: At least 2 founding team members

Duration and Reward

Evaluation Process
The criteria for our student entrepreneur competition is split into two parts and focuses primarily on your journey as an entrepreneur.
Part 1: Evaluation of the Student Entrepreneur
The student entrepreneur demonstrates the tenacious spirit needed to succeed as an entrepreneur. They have encountered challenges, overcome them, and learned from their mistakes.
The student entrepreneur is effectively integrating the two roles of life – as a student AND a business owner.
The student demonstrates a desire to build a better tomorrow. They aim to improve a process or solve a problem with motivations not solely based on driving profits.
EO Core Value #1 – Trust and Respect – The student has demonstrated an appropriate degree of trust and respect in his/her interactions with the judges. They are true to self, demonstrating vulnerability and openness, and are trustworthy.
