Tinubu - Atiku

Former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar has ridiculed President Bola Tinubu for the ongoing controversy surrounding his educational credentials. Abubakar, who stood as the presidential candidate for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the previous general election, has taken a keen interest in the documents Tinubu provided to Chicago State University (CSU) during his admission process.

Abubakar has formally requested that the university furnish the credentials used by Tinubu for his acceptance. However, President Tinubu, by means of his legal representatives, has appealed to a US court to reject Abubakar's request.

In a recent social media post, Abubakar expressed his bewilderment at the circumstances. He recounted that in 1999, Tinubu claimed to have attended St. John’s Primary School in Aroloya, Lagos, prior to enrolling at the Children Home School in Ibadan. Tinubu further detailed his educational journey, mentioning Government College Ibadan, Richard Daley College, and Chicago State University in the United States. Interestingly, in 2023, Tinubu has modified his account to state that he solely attended Chicago State.

Abubakar's confusion stems from the inconsistency in Tinubu's educational narrative. How can one possess a university degree without the foundation of primary and secondary education? Abubakar suggested that the Nigerian public should share in his perplexity regarding Tinubu's assertion of lacking primary and secondary schooling, yet possessing a university degree.

Abubakar emphasized the importance of understanding how Tinubu achieved this accomplishment, as it could potentially offer valuable insights for Nigerians to glean from his "ingenuity."
